Kelp enchantments
Kelp
Abandoned on the shore,
Wet leather shrivelling in the sun,
Knotted club holdfasts useless now.
But even so, breeding flies and rot,
Oarweed, kelp, ribbonweed and wrack,
Still wrap themselves,
In a second skin,
Around my heart.
Serrated wrack as the tide ebbs
